Doing expert interviews is an EXCELLENT + smart way to create products and build your business.
People LOVE interviews. Think about how much TV and radio time is devoted to interviews. We all seem to have a natural curiosity about what can be learned from *experts* in our fields. *How they did it* interviews are also popular -- It's encouraging to learn from others who have been successful.
Interviews are also a great way to produce content and passive income without having to create it yourself :-) Typically, the expert is not paid. What they get is publicity and exposure to people who are interested in their work.
For instance, I am being interviewed for the EveryDayQi program. http://www.EveryDayQi.com/Carol -- a series of 12 health-related teleseminars. While I am not being paid, I get to promote my websites and programs to the hundreds of people who register for each call.
Think *products*
Each call will be recorded for cd and downloadable mp3, which people get a chance to purchase, even after the call. It will also be transcribed, which increases the value. Recording your calls and having them transcribed costs little, yet increases the value immensely. It allows people to choose how and when to consume your information. You always pick up something you missed in the transcribed version of a recorded call.
You can create mp3 audios, cd's, white papers and ebooks using content from interviews. The key is creating a win-win, and being clear with the expert how the content will be used.
If the expert wants to be paid, then you can either arrange a set fee, such as a 1-hour consultation or a percentage. But there are plenty of experts who are happy to be interviewed just for the opportunity to promote their work.
