A few weeks ago, my family and I tried out a new church. You can imagine my shock when the rock band started off the service with their rendition of "Revolution" by the Beatles (we were in the 3rd row). We continued to be captivated by a full multimedia presentation, including audio, video, hip hop music, live skits and comedy -- anything that would drive home the message.
The church itself was a spectacle -- it looked like a beautiful concert hall with 2 mezzanines and stadium seating. Don't get me wrong -- the service was entirely scripture-based, but the presentation was what really enhanced the message. It just wasn't possible to be bored.
It made me think about what more I could do to capture people's attention and to drive home my own message. I've already been using audio and video, and making CD and DVD products. There is no doubt that it's harder and harder to stand out in a crowd, and that there will be competition for the attention of the clients you want.
With the ease of creating online audio and video, multimedia will be the norm. The only question is -- where can you plug it in?
